North Union FFA one of the Top Ten Chapters in Ohio

In the Ohio FFA State association, the North Union FFA Chapter was named one of ten chapters and named a top ten chapter in three different categories and only one of thirty to receive a gold emblem award. Out of all the FFA chapters in the state, the North Union FFA was selected in the student, community and chapter divisions for the first time in North Union FFA history. There are three divisions of the national chapter award application. These awards were given out at the 85th Ohio FFA Convention by the State FFA Association.

To be eligible for the award, the State FFA Association evaluates each chapter and its involvement in the community, the school and student development over the course of a year. It is then decided if the chapter falls in the gold, silver or bronze category. Each ranking requires different standards that must be met before the end year deadline. The Gold Emblem rating is usually given to the top 10% of chapters in the each state. With the Ohio FFA Association having over 23,000 members in over 300 chapters throughout Ohio, this is a remarkable honor given to North Union. Once a Gold Emblem is received, the chapter moved to an interview round and the application will be forwarded on to national for evaluation and ranking. Our chapter has been involved in many different FFA and career development events, and has been especially involved within the Richwood community. There is a lot of volunteer work done at the school and many of the members have earned awards for their hard work over the course of the year.
